Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling services are delivered at all WAVE regional centres by a team of 30 specialist Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Psychologists.

Norma Patterson, Head of Clinical Services

We offer a variety of approaches to suit client needs and choice, including CBT & EMDR therapies, along with Psychodynamic, Humanistic Somatic and Integrative approaches.

Tailored services are delivered to people throughout the lifespan, from ages 6 yrs upwards.

WAVE Counselling operates Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm in all 6 project centres (Armagh, Ballymoney, Belfast, Derry Londonderry, Killough & Omagh).  There are also evening appointments available in our Ballymoney, Belfast & Armagh  centres (5pm – 8.30pm).

At WAVE, all counselling is free of charge and in accordance with ethical standards (Eg “Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions” – BACP). The first stage of the counselling process will be an initial assessment where you will meet the counsellor and discuss how counselling could be of benefit to you.
