WAVE is a grassroots, cross community, voluntary organisation formed in 1991 which has grown organically to provide health and wellbeing services and social support to those who have experienced bereavement, injury or trauma through or as a result of civil unrest in Northern Ireland.

Since December 2020, WAVE Trauma Centre provides services for survivors of Historical Institutional Abuse (HIA). In September 2022, WAVE Trauma Centre together with the Victims and Survivors Service (VSS), launched a new service dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of survivors of Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries and Workhouses (MBMLW).
